"Amazing view of the beautiful ocean and what a sunset!!! The option to dine out is perfect! Bring a coat but their heat appliances are good. The food is delicious. I had of course the meat it was so tender, filling and well cooked. Creme brulee did not disappoint plus that side cookie..."
"If you want to enjoy a delicious meal overlooking an absolutely stunning ocean view then make a reservation at George’s at the Cove We were lucky to snag a table just at the edge of the upstairs balcony, but to be honest, when you’re up there, there really isn’t a bad seat. Even aside from the incredible views, the rooftop restaurant offered a solid ambiance/vibe. The decor, fixtures, bar, etc were all trendy and clean The staff were great. We didn’t have to wait long to be seated, we ordered almost immediately, and our food came out in a timely manner. We also sat and enjoyed the views and conversation a bit after we finished eating, and our server came by to check on us but we never felt pressured to leave The menu offers something for everything. We shared the rock fish tacos and their burger. Both were hearty and very flavorful. I would also recommend the chips and guacamole/salsa. I didn’t love the salsa flavor, but the guacamole was solid Some tips: Definitely consider making a reservation and ask if you can request a table that overlooks the water. There is only street parking and garage parking. We circled around a few times before parking at the nearby parking garage. But be warned, it’s $30 to park there. But after you eat, walk down to the cost and explore the La Jolla cove, the sea caves, see the seals, and explore some of the parks along this scenic stretch of coastline Cheers!!"
"What a fantastic place! We started with the brussel sprouts. Everyone in our group got different entrees and we were all really pleased. Ended the night with 3 desserts. We talked about how wonderful George’s at the Cove was the entire night. It’s also a wonderful place to watch the sunset!"
"I would give them 6 stars if I could! Came here for our wedding anniversary dinner and they definitely made it very special. They knew it was our anniversary so they upgraded us to the terrace seating and even brought champagne on the house. Servers were quite nice and prompt to check on us, asking if we needed anything and if the food was good. General manager also came and stopped by our table twice and was quite a gem to talk to. Portobello Mushroom - just wow! I was not expecting to have loved this so much! Mushroom cap was perfect and went so well together with that Thai sauce and those shishito peppers! And oh gosh, even those cashews on the side had some flavor of their own. What a lovely combination here! Salad - could be better. Really love the concept of the pair and the blue cheese and the hazelnut, but that cabbage was actually quite a lot in volume and a bit too wrong and crunchy and some pieces were also fairly bitter. I think if the base was mostly mixed greens with a little bit of cabbage, this with salad would have been next level! Chicken - 10/10 What an absolutely beautiful dish! That chicken was cooked so so so perfectly soft and there was that avocado salsa on the side and that creamed corn and the squash. And oh my goodness me! Have everything together and one bite and it's a burst of flavor and texture in your mouth and it was just so so good! Only downside is that the piece of chicken was quite small like I think it was a quarter chicken instead of a half chicken like we were expecting. Side of Grilled Chicken Order this because there was two little chicken in the entree. Chicken was quite generally cooked and quite a large piece of chicken breast which actually also came on some pasta so they don't serve it plain. Very nice gesture. The pasta itself was extremely oily though, so we didn't really have any of it. Banana Sticky Toffee dessert - speechless! Everything was just beautiful on this plate. Really really soft sticky toffee pudding and then the bananas on top had that caramelized crispness on top like you get on a creme brulee. That ice cream had a lovely flavor of its own and then there was the sesame crisp thing and the little crunch on the side.. just wow! Definitely recommend this place for a good date night!"
"We visited on a busy holiday weekend but we're greated nicely and seated immediately which was a nice suprise without a reservation. The food and views were excellent and the famous soup definitely didn't disappoint, very good!"
"We recently visited Georges at the Cove and were absolutely blown away by the newly renovated Ocean Terrace. The fresh look of the space perfectly complements the iconic La Jolla views, making it easily the best rooftop vibe in San Diego. The menu has some incredible standouts that made our night: The Drinks: The cocktails are top-notch—innovative, refreshing, and the perfect pairing. Beef Tartare & Bone Marrow: This appetizer was a highlight; served with sourdough, it was rich, savory, and perfectly executed. Local Spiny Lobster Spaghetti: The combination of red chili, charred onion, and lemon cream with fresh lobster was decadent and full of flavor. Spice Crusted Local Swordfish: A fantastic main course—the spice crust paired with herbed farro and yuzu yogurt sauce was a unique and delicious take on local seafood. Between the stunning new terrace and the excellent kitchen, this is a must-visit in La Jolla. We can’t wait to come back!"
"I recently visited George’s at the Cove in La Jolla and had a great experience overall. The location is absolutely stunning, offering beautiful ocean views right from your table, especially if you manage to get a window seat as I did. I booked my reservation on the same morning around 8 or 9 a.m. and was surprised to find availability for a 12:45 p.m. lunch. Although there was some construction noise on the top deck, the staff accommodated my request to sit by the window and enjoy the view. The food itself was great; I started with the salmon tartare and had rockfish tacos for lunch. The service was good- and the overall atmosphere was very enjoyable. I’d definitely recommend George’s at the Cove to anyone visiting La Jolla for the first time who’s looking for a great meal with a fantastic coastal view. For those concerned about local wildlife smells, I personally didn’t notice any issue with sea lions during my visit, so it was a non-factor. Overall, a great spot for lunch with a view."
"Amazing. Had an excellent time here with my dad. Started off by being greeted by the most wonderful staff and even with reserving a table for the wrong date, they were more that willing to seat us with an incredible view. The restaurant has 3 levels that overlook La Jolla, the top being a beautiful roof, the middle is where the photo below was taken and has an open window view and bar, and I believe the bottom has a inside area. I totally recommend paying the extra $60 to be with the view as it’s one of the best aspects of the place. If you go during a non busy time(like around 4) they’ll be open tables typically at the window so it may be free the extra fee. To add onto this beautiful restaurant, our waiter was hilarious and so helpful! And if you have dietary restrictions, many if the food item accommodate for this, as our waiter informed us that our chips with guac/salsa were gluten free and my rigatoni was vegetarian! Food was absolutely delicious and WILL be returning soon!"
